Vijay, the leader of the Tamillaga Vettri Kazhagam, met with Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar on three occasions to stake a claim to form the government. However, as he lacked a majority, the Governor did not invite Vijay to form the government. It is against this backdrop that a lawsuit has been filed in the Supreme Court on behalf of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam against the Governor.
