New rules benefiting the eight crore employees covered by the Provident Fund (PF) system are set to come into effect soon. Under these rules, monthly PF contributions exceeding ₹1,800 will become optional. Additionally, PF subscribers will now be able to withdraw up to 100 percent of the funds from their accounts; the regulations governing this are about to be implemented.
