Supreme Court ordered the release of a 105-year-old man—who had served 30 years of a life sentence for murder—before the completion of his term. Rasik Mandal, a native of West Bengal who was imprisoned in 1994 at the age of 74, was granted bail by the Supreme Court in 2024 and allowed to live as a free man.
