TCS has reportedly asked managers to identify employees for Band D category, which could lead to 5% workforce reduction — around 30,000 employees — through salary cuts, benefit removal, and eventual layoffs. Cognizant is also planning to axe 15,000–17,000 jobs under its Global Reset Plan as AI is drastically reducing the need for human effort in IT projects.
