The police have stated in their arguments that the claim about the existence of a “Deepa Thoon” (lamp pillar) on the summit of Thirupparankundram Hill is merely an assumption made by single judge G.R. Swaminathan. Presenting their stand before the court, the police maintained that there is no factual or official basis to support such a claim, as the case continues to be heard.
