India plans to notify draft rules soon for vehicles running on E85 (85% ethanol, 15% petrol) and up to E100, building on E20 success to cut oil imports amid global crises. Flex-fuel vehicles (FFVs) will need specialized engines to avoid damage from high ethanol, with testing already underway and separate E85 pumps planned.
