Maharani Kamsundari Devi, the last queen of Darbhanga Raj, passed away at 93, bringing renewed attention to the royal family’s massive contributions to India. The family donated 600 kg of gold during the 1962 India-China war, three private aircraft, and land that became Darbhanga Airport, along with huge support for education and Mithila culture.
