Assam is fully prepared for the counting of votes on May 4 for the 2026 Legislative Assembly elections, with Chief Electoral Officer Anurag Goyal confirming complete arrangements across the state. As many as 8,500 officials will manage the process at 40 counting centres in 35 districts, backed by tight security and record voter turnout from the April 9 polling.
