Isakki Subbiah, who contested and won the Ambasamudram constituency on behalf of the AIADMK, has now switched allegiance to the TVK. The Congress party, which had already entered the fray in this constituency, has also aligned itself with the TVK. Consequently, a situation has arisen in this constituency where there is no opposition party at all.
