Chennai Egmore railway station, originally built in 1908 for just ₹17 lakh, is now undergoing a massive ₹842 crore redevelopment under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. The project includes new G+3 terminals, G+5 multi-level parking, a budget hotel, roof plaza, and modern amenities to handle over 24,600 daily passengers.
