Following heavy rainfall in the Cauvery catchment areas of Karnataka and the subsequent release of a large volume of water from the Kabini reservoir, water is surging rapidly down the Cauvery River. It is expected to reach Biligundlu, at the Tamil Nadu border, by tonight or tomorrow morning.
