A resolution was moved in the Legislative Assembly today opposing the Karnataka government’s move—led by D.K. Shivakumar—to construct a dam across the Cauvery River and urging the Union Government not to grant any permission for the project. Leaders of all political parties, including the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee, have extended their support to this resolution.
