The Tambaram–Chengalpattu railway corridor, one of Chennai’s busiest routes, is set to get a fourth track after receiving Central Government approval in October. The ₹757.18 crore project covering 30 km is expected to begin in January next year. Once completed, it will ease congestion and allow more suburban, express, and freight trains, benefiting thousands of daily commuters.
