CTR Nirmal Kumar has stated that Tamil Nadu’s power sector is burdened with nearly ₹2.5 lakh crore debt. He also alleged that several irregularities and violations took place in the Electricity Board during the previous DMK regime and pointed to a severe staff shortage. The minister also responded to questions regarding the possible implementation of monthly electricity billing.
