Tamil Nadu Election Commissioner: Ahead of local body election reports suggest that the TVK government, led by Chief Minister Vijay, has asked IAS officer Jothi NirmalaSamy to step down from her role as the official responsible for conducting these elections. Jothi NirmalaSamy had been appointed to this position by the previous DMK government.
