Mettur Dam: Karnataka had refrained from releasing water despite orders from the Cauvery Water Authority and the Regulation Committee to release the due share of water to Tamil Nadu. However, following heavy rains in the areas adjoining the Western Ghats, water is now being released from the Kabini reservoir, leading to an increase in the inflow to the Mettur Dam.
