Senior journalist Umapathi has expressed the view that having liquor delivered directly to one’s home would eliminate the unnecessary expenses incurred on cigarettes and snacks while sitting in a bar—potentially saving a family up to ₹3,000 per month. He noted that with such savings, women would no longer need to rely on the government’s financial assistance of ₹2,500 or ₹3,000.
