Anti-Corruption police arrested Thanjavur HR&CE Joint Commissioner Jothilakshmi and a female friend—who acted as an intermediary—red-handed. They were arrested following a complaint that they had accepted a bribe of ₹1 lakh from a contractor in connection with administrative procedures and approvals for renovation work at the Vanmeeganathar Temple near Ammapettai in Thanjavur district.
