Chennai Property Tax: Residents of Chennai have begun to complain that while they previously paid around ₹800 in property tax, they are now being asked to pay ₹6,000 without any prior notice. Although the Corporation maintains that property taxes have not been hiked, DMK members are questioning why the additional tax is being collected.
