Selvam stated that Tamil Nadu rejected and pushed away several Central Government projects totaling ₹1,21,000 crore (1.21 lakh crore rupees), thereby “saving” that amount for the Union government. He noted that this marks the start of the next protest regarding state development and Central funds.
